The No.1 Welsh indie beer maker signs up eric

Crafty Devil Brewing, the No.1 independent craft brewer in Wales, has signed up eric to handle its marketing strategy as it plans to bring its award-winning brews to the masses.

The Cardiff-based outfit started brewing in the shed of co-founder Rhys Watkins in 2014 and now make 2,500 litres a week – roughly 1,250 pints. But with almost 90% of those beers finding their way to bars, pubs and shops in Wales, it’s been something of a hidden gem of the craft beer scene when it comes to those in other parts of the UK.

eric really understands the food and drinks industry, and we know that aside from their marketing expertise, they also really love our product.

“We’re lucky to have built up such a loyal following in Wales so quickly,” explains Adam Edinborough, Crafty Devil Brewing’s co-founder and head brewer. “And while our cellar door bar is almost literally always open, we now a have network of distributors across England and Scotland to help us spread the word beyond Wales.

“eric really understands the food and drinks industry, and we know that aside from their marketing expertise, they also really love our product – which helps a lot. We’re confident they’re going to be the ideal partner to help us move forward.”

eric won’t be short of good products to work with – Crafty Devil Brewing has already brewed up 96 different beers, with the likes of Safe As Milk, a coffee milk stout; You Love Us, a west-coast American IPA; and I Am the Resurrection, a hoppy amber ale, already modern classics among their avid followers.

“The Crafty Devil beers are excellent,” says Alex Mead, eric’s content director. “Too many brands in the craft beer market are style over substance, but Adam and Rhys have managed to create something that tastes good and looks good too, it’s a simple formula but a lot of people get it wrong. Even the names are just things they like – basically guitar bands and rugby. We can’t wait to get started on spreading the word.”
