14 brilliant things eric has done in 2018
From podcasts and print, brand launches to social media campaigns, raising LGBTQ+ awareness and helping to launch charitable foundations – it’s been quite the year for eric.
1. We revamped a triathlon brand
After teasing the tri world with a first glimpse of the new creative for Aropec at the end of 2017, we relaunched the new retail platform aropec.co.uk, together with a new brand look and feel at the start of 2018, increasing both brand awareness and revenues.
2. We created a new golfing brand
Our work with Golf Traveller has included helping them develop their wider strategy, which has led to the creation of the Golf Travel Solutions brand and the platform golftravelsolutions.com. The branding, look and feel, content and platform were all created by eric.
3. We broke the story of a transgender hero
The stories within RUGBY journal have continued to break boundaries, but none more so than that of transgender rugby player Verity Smith. RUGBY was the first to tell Verity’s incredible story – both in print and with a one-off podcast – and was then followed by, among others, CNN, The Daily Mail, The Sun, ITV and the BBC. “Since RUGBY told my story, I finally started to live my authentic life,” says Verity. “It’s enabled me to have a voice to tell my story good and bad, and to show others that it is okay to be involved in sport if you are from the LGBTQ+ community and that we can break barriers and make a positive change.
“The media interest has been astounding and followed in the respectful journalism footsteps of RUGBY. The journal created the voice which has enabled the ongoing discussions around the inclusivity of sport. This journey could never have happened without them who I will always be grateful for their openness and willingness to challenge such a hard subject.”
4. We did a 24-hour content turnaround for The North Face
Asked to shoot a collection of new products for the global adventure brand, and then turn them into animated GIFs – all within a 24-hour window – eric stepped up to the mark and duly delivered the social media content for The North Face’s latest global launch.
5. We helped a global brand tell its story
Having helped Fortune 500 company Cigna relaunch its website in 2017, we continued our work with them, producing more animations to help tell their story.
6. We went on holiday to all these places
eric works with some of the best photographers and videographers on the planet, and we like to showcase them on our Instagram feed, @eric_content so be sure to check them out.
7. We won an award for brilliant content
In the first year eric has been able to enter the International CMA Awards, we were shortlisted for best use of social media with our Prop Star campaign for Rhino – and we only went and won the top gong! Nice work team eric.
8. We helped brands find their voice
Not ones to rest on our laurels, eric likes to practise what we preach and we decided to show off some of the work we’ve been doing for the past two years since our launch – the end result was our new video showcasing how we’ve helped brands find their voice.
9. We added a famous cricket name to our portfolio
When you think of the most historic names in global cricket, few can match Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and its world-famous home of Lord’s, so you can imagine how proud we were at eric to have won the pitch to produce their membership magazine in 2019.
10. We told the story of Ian Williams
Another from RUGBY, and one we’re equally proud of. In February 2018, 27-year-old rugby player Ian Williams collapsed and died on the Doncaster Knights training pitch. We spoke to his friends, team-mates and family to tell the story and helped launch The Ian Williams Foundation. Read this heart-breaking story here.
11. We were at the forefront of the editorial world
Not content with being Chair of the prestigious BSME (British Society of Magazine Editors) for the usual one-year stint, our content director Alex Mead was voted in for a second year for the first time in the organisation’s history.
12. We took rugby players back to school
Our client Rhino has been at the forefront of helping rugby players learn their trade for decades, so it seemed fitting that we should launch Scrum School – a series of videos featuring some of the biggest names in rugby. In the first of the series, we featured British & Irish Legend Adam Jones and England scrum coach Neal Hatley.
13. We won two new clients in one month
Ensuring our year ended with a bang, eric won two new clients in the closing weeks of 2018 – but we can’t talk about them yet, so stay tuned for more great news in January 2019!
14. We wished you all a Happy Christmas and hope you all have a cracking new year!
Well, it’s never good to finish on ‘13’, is it?
