8 seriously cool things eric has done in 2017

It’s been a busy 2017 in the world of eric, here are a few of the quality content things we’ve been up to…

1. Told the story of a golfing great

Having created and launched the GolfTraveller brand for our client in 2016, we continued to create content targeting both a b2b and consumer audience, but for golf geeks our long read on legendary golf architect AW Tillinghast was a huge hit. Read the history of AW Tillinghast.

Crabtree & Evelyn shop front

2. Helped a high-street brand reach millennials

Crabtree & Evelyn is a brand in transition, as it strives to move towards a younger target audience. We were tasked with creating a full 360 marketing campaign around its new everyday care range. The result saw our work fill their shop windows, store displays, social channels, ecrm and websites across the globe with our total wellbeing campaign. Read the Crabtree & Evelyn case study.

official lions programmes

3. Created 10 official Lions programmes in six weeks

The British & Irish Lions tour to New Zealand is arguably the biggest rugby fixture on the planet, and eric’s Alex Mead and Simon Campbell had to create 12 official publications for New Zealand Rugby from start to finish with 100% new content in each issue. Ten of them were the matchday programmes, and there were preview and review titles, the latter being turned around within a week of the final Test. Read the New Zealand Rugby case study.

triathlon

4. Celebrated real athletes in triathlon

Triathlon brands have always used the pros to promote their wares, but we helped to launch new-to-the-UK brand Aropec by calling on the weekend warriors. A Facebook call out brought us three real athletes who then starred in our advertising and content across all platforms. Read the Aropec case study.

Prop star's finalists
Rhi and the brilliant finalists JP and Clev

5. Took the nation’s Prop Stars to Twickenham

We launched a social media campaign for our client Rhino to engage grassroots rugby in a search for the most community-minded prop. It began on Twitter in April and ended up with scores of noble frontrowers who go above and beyond being put forward for the award. We put together an all-star panel of Adam Jones, Jason Leonard and Rocky Clark who narrowed the list to three finalists. Three eric campaign videos and a public vote in the thousands later and our finalists walked out on the Twickenham pitch at The Varsity Match where England legend Martin Johnson crowned Rhiannon Kennedy of Streatham-Croydon RFC Prop Star 2017. mother and daughter

6. Told the story of a global healthcare insurance brand

Towards the end of a year we started working with a global health insurance brand, populating their new hub by telling a rich story of their work through animation, infographics and long-form content. More news on this is in the new year.

Rugby journal

7. Launched a premium rugby journal

eric has done a lot of brilliant digital work, but we decided we wanted to also show what we could do in the print space with one of our favourite topics, rugby. All about the truest form of storytelling with big intros, lengthy, insightful, engaging reads and stunning photography, its limited-edition print run is selling so fast, we’re already planning issue two. eric Idol beer

8. Made our own beer

Working with Cardiff independent beer makers Crafty Devil Brewing Co on their marketing strategy has its advantages, namely we’ve made our own beer, Eric Idol, a 6.5% IPA. If you’re one of the very lucky few in the marketing world, it’ll be heading your way in the new year.
